Patanjali says we can clear the mind from impurities by developing four important mental virtues: maitri (friendliness), karuna (compassion), mudita (joyfulness) and upeksha (indifference). so far, the only thing I got developed were a bunch of film rolls, some of them roughly handled by the lab in Delhi. it surely added an extra layer of dust and scratches like I’m trying to forget the weird psychedelic Goan experience in the house that kept running away from me. back in Delhi I had to say goodbye to my friends from the road. Tess & Carmina went back to Pushkar, Bree hopped on the last train towards Mumbai. during the first covid wave the apartment with the golden retriever became my home and as time passed away too slowly I captured the lockdown atmosphere around suburban Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgoan and a treehouse resort near Jaipur. these photographs are mostly about (street) dogs, the family I stayed with and random Indian architecture spotted from these chained rooftop terraces.
